CHATEAU MARMONT

I think it's fair to say that Chateau Marmont are the secret weapon of French electro. If you don't have a Lenny Kravitz-sized savings account to get a Justice remix but still want something undeniably French and unstoppably awesome, then you go to Chateau Marmont. Why? Because they can take a track, flip it on its head and make harder, better, faster and funner. Take this, their spin on the new Datarock material. Can't say I'm wild about the original, but you can't pass up Chateau Marmont. Not ever.

THE GOLDEN FILTER

Buzz bands collide, right? But I'm not complaining, The Golden Filter manage to ignite all they touch, and this one lights up with some washed out synth-pad sheen. Even though that signature arpeggiator is starting to wear, this feels better than a lot of other mixes already out there (here's looking at you Sam La More).

LITTLE BIG ADVENTURE

Speaking of great Swedish artists on the very great Swedish label Labrador, this is Little Big Adventure, the label's latest signing. It's all droning vocals under waves of tinkling indie pop production and it's all very good.

Look out for more soon.

THE SOUND OF ARROWS

I really wish people would hurry up and catch onto these guys. The Sound Of Arrows are doing incredible things right now, not least of which is making my swoon for Swedish music once again.

Their album has been pushed back a little, bu should come out on Sweden's finest, and my favourite label, Labrador. Until then dig into their recent remix for Jamie Long. A true delight.

LOST VALENTINOS

Lost Valentinos have been on fire very recently. After dropping Bismarck on Bang Gang 12 Inches last year and then Serio just the other month, the Sydney natives are back with their next single, Midnights. It's a pretty fantastic slice of cosmos-gazing indie rock, from the wild rhythms to the growling repetition of that bassline. The sinlge is is backed with two jaw droppingly amazing remixes from both Fan Death and The Emporer Machine. Fan Death's take has been on repeat for the last few weeks but it's great to finally hear the epic EM remix.

You know what the best thing is? You can get the whole package for free over at Dummy. They're asking bloggers to direct you all over to their site, something I'm more than happy to do beacause a) I'm not a cunt and b) Dummy is great, and their steps into the label world are even greater. So head over and grab them all. Meanwhile, grab some classic Lost Valentinos remixes below, and prepare for the release of Cities of Gold real soon.

DAS GLOW

Two new productions from Das Glow today. The first comes from the dude's new single out on Alan Braxe's Vulture label. Alan has been monumentally busy at the moment it would seem, securing some really great stuff for his label. This is no exception, it's some really wonderful filter-funk stuff, which kind of comes as a surprise, as Das Glow, being one of the main players over at Institubes, isn't too renowned for doing something this poppy and refined. I'm impressed with the turn here, and really hope it's a sign of the variation he'll show in the future.

Das Glow - I Want To Wake Up With You REMOVED

Following that up is his new remix for the Faint's Mirror Error. It's got more of a classic Das Glow feel, which of course means cut up and fucked up electronic glitchery. It's got those wild and ravey micro-synths and some Oizo-esque pitch-shifted theatrics.

THE PRAGMATIC

You probably already know of The Pragmatic from either their exceptionally great Justice cover/remix (Phantom Pt. III) or more likely through co-songwriter Andre's extensive and achingly awesome work with The RAC. Yeah you do.

Those two points of reference should give you a good idea of what to expect from the Pragmatic's new EP (Circles). It shows a deep love for all things electronic, with a mix of distorted synth bass rolls, classic 8-Bit sounds and crunchy drum machine beats. But the interesting part is that the EP is not confined to just those elements, it's got a real band feel, with a human energy you just can't get from a plug-in. Add to that the occasionally Gibbard-ish vocals and it's really tight package.

The Circles EP touches down today, and I've been lucky enough to pick a track off it to share with Hyperbole readers. Tuck in to You Blame Me below, and get wise to what the Pragmatic are doing, it's dangerously good stuff.

YOUTH

For those of you who've not guessed by now, here's the deal. Youth is my boy. He is my damn boy, man. I can't say for real that I emailed him and was like, dude, so, uh, are you my boy or what? But, he's my boy because he's always coming up with great new stuff that's ahead of the pack and sending it my way. This is no exception, it's his latest mix, and no surprise, it's a show-stopper.

It's Youth's Quartz mix, and I had to throw it up here so that a) you download it and dig it, b) he gets more bookings and c) because he's my boy, remember?

Suss out the tracklist below and grab these two Youth remixes that are still firing.

STRANGELETS

Supersoul heavyweights Strangelets have taken quite the shine to Sebastien Tellier. Or maybe it's the enigmatic Frenchman who's crushing on them, because Supersoul's putting out a very good looking 12 Inch of Sexuality reworks from Strangelets.

And somehow the following take on Sexual Sportswear is even more sprawling and mesmeric than the original. Bravo.

TANLINES

Straight outta BK, comes Tanlines, and packed firmly under their arms are jaunty, rolling tunes with loads of unfurling glee. Just check out their bouncing glitch-mix for Telepathe's Chrome's On It, probably my favourite version of the tune so far, or their other choice dig, a take on TTA's A New Chance, which retains the original's buoyant disposition and adds layers of synths and smiles to it.

Clearly they're already impressing the right people, as they've landed a spot on the new Kitsune compilation (The Lucky One). Wait for more.

FENECH-SOLER

I was thinking about it earlier today, and I figured that since I've not DJ'd in like forever, I've kind of deviated away from club-bound electro music, something I know has annoyed several people who read this blog. There's not about to be a total reversal on that, not at all really, but I do still love a good banger. Like this one, which is a remix from the criminally underrated Combo for the also underrated Fenech-Soler. It's edgy enough to catch the ear and proulsive enough to hit the dancefloor.

JONATHAN BOULET

I cannot get enough of this song. Ever since we decided to feature Jonathan Boulet over at The Cool Hunter, he's been on repeat for me. Check this one above all other MP3s today, it's stirring, wonderful indie pop.

SYNTHIA

Choosing the right name for your band/production team is really half the battle, I think. No, really. If you think about it, awesome tunes feel so much more uhm, awesome, if you can say they're by "band with really cool name". A Simply Red tune would probably be a little bit better if the band weren't called Simply Red. So that leads us to Synthia, a producer(s?) out of the UK, who has arguably one of the best names in modern music. It just rings out cool. And the tracks back that up too. 1981 is solid-gold wayfarer action, and Dalton is a crunchy slice of machine demolishing fun.

KAP BAMBINO

This just came through, and it's an absolute thrill. Kap Bambino's erratic electronic thrash paired with some old fashioned War of the Worlds-style orchestral grandeur. Huge fun.

TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB

Man, I think I missed the memo that Two Door Cinema Club were releasing a single on Kitsune. Talk about two head-explodingly fantastic parties coming together. If you're not familiar with TDCC get into some below, it's sprightly, jubilant indie-pop, and it's enough to convince me that two and a half minute-guitar pop is the best thing ever invented.

THE NEW WINE

After listening to these supremely smooth synth-kitted jams, I can understand why the Whitest Boy Alive took the New Wine out on tour with them. So nice.

Check out this bonus video of the band jamming with Erlend for a cover of Fred Falke's Golden Cage remix!

PONEY PONEY

Parisian three piece Poney Poney just released their new EP last month and I think enough time has passed that I can safely throw up one of the tracks. This is the Rob remix of When Do You Wanna Stop Working - Rob being unsung hero of the French scene who also mans the keyboards for Phoenix's live sets - and he takes it to a strange and sombre place, with plenty of downbeat electronics and piano. It's far removed from the original, with its Para One production and frenetic pace, but its still pretty great.

THE MALES

So these guys are a bundle of hooky fun, aren't they? They're the Males (a name that's three quarters false) and they're kind of like if the Long Blondes had rubbed off on Cassette Kids and in turn made the latter write better tunes.

CASIOKIDS

The latest Casiokids single dropped on Moshi Moshi in the beginning of March, but it's such a pearl that I couldn't not put it up here on Hyperbole. It's all clattering drums and squiggly synthesizers. What's not to like?

SNOB SCRILLA

Aussie/American certified baller Snob Scrilla has always walked a precarious tightrope, balancing an old-school hip hop ethos with flourishes for of-the-moment production and determined dancefloor inclinations. But who says you can't have it all, right?

He'll be releasing his debut LP (Day One) on Ivy League come April 24th, and it's a pretty storming effort on all fronts. The dude's fiery as ever behind the microphone and a host of your favourite Australians lend their talents too (read: Bag Raiders, CSK OK, Delta Goodrem??).

Snob's been dope enough to hook me up with a couple of exclusives to get people excited for the album so check them out. First up is '96 Bulls ridiculously fun take on Heartbreak Scorcese, which ricochets between synth-pop glee and main-room breakdowns. Serious stuff. And following that is Groove Terminator's (GT OMG?) sneaky little mashup edit. Scope it out now and then prepare for his proper remix coming soon.

RYSKEE

Ryskee is the new project from the infamous Frenchman Play Paul. And as things with Play Paul generally go, you can't trust that this is going to be good. New single Leave Me Amor is coming backed with some seriously good remixes courtesy of Raw Man, Dim Mak stalwart SPA and Play Paul in solo-mode. Scope that one below and add them to your acts-to-watch list before it's too late.

DEFEND MOSCOW

Defend Moscow do sparkling and spirited dance-pop with a resolute chirpiness ill befitting of their gloom-inspiring name. And while the songs with all their studied sheen are indeed a lot of fun, there's something holding me back from really loving them. With time and the right producer though, this could be really special.
