JAPAN: DAY ONE

So we're in Japan. Much like HaveFunJesse, my girlf and I jumped at cheap flights over to JP and at last we are here. So don't be surprised if this blog becomes a travel blog as well as a music one.

Arriving late last night in Osaka we've not had much time to really get to know the city much at all, but we know that we love it. Even at midnight last night we were able to grab a great, cheap meal of sashimi and sushi just across the road. Afterwards we went back to our joint in Osaka, the Dotonbori Hotel. It's nothing too flash, but perfectly fine for a little room on a budget. Free internet, terrific location, you don't need more than that really.

Today was filled with walking around the city and shopping like the shit was going out of style. I bought up big at UNI QLO, which I first fell for when in NYC. You can't go past $40 skinny jeans yo. Stef swooned for the designer strip picking up some treats from Hermes and Marc Jacobs and just generally pawing over Chanel, YSL and Louis Vuitton goodies.

Then it was Aquarium time. Nice and touristy, but hey, we saw dolphins and whale sharks dude. Can't top that! Dinner was a riot too, we were at one of those buffet style resturaunts where you get all this stuff on skewers and then cook them in your table's own deep fryer. That stuff is nuts. I'm pretty sure if you had one of those at home you'd just start frying everything. Yo, you want some toast? Fuck toast, deep fry me a couple o' slices bro!

Tomorrow's going to be even more fun, we're checking out the Floating Garden Observatory. I'll probably puke on someone's shoes. Silly gaijin.

There'll hopefully be loads of updates on here with pictures, talk, MP3s, stories about being painfully foreign and us hunting down Shinichi Osawa billboards. He's like the Japanese Justin Timberlake, right? I can only believe so. Genius.
