I'm not dead. That's it in a nutshell. This blog may've felt like a ghost ship for the last week and a bit, which I've got to apologise for. Sorry kiddos. Work's been moving shizz 'round and Stef and I have been total concert whores. So the blog's taken a back seat. What's more, I guess there hasn't really been incredibly much to blog about lately. Come on, Vuvuvu turned out to be a real stinker after all the hype. And reading blogs like Hipster Runoff and Waves At Night (aka Best New(ish) Blog) that are just positively killing didn't speed up the motivation process. I would've been back sooner but without a proper "Dave-Comeback-Mega-Post-xMEGAx", and that wouldn't be good at all.

So how big are we talking? Bigger than big. Do I even need to say it? Apocalyspo.

You've been waiting and April 12 is almost here. This shit is going to be huge. Huge huge massif. As if the Depeche-r than Depeche Mode This Boy's In Love wasn't enough, I'm bringing you more Presets genius to get you that much more excited about Kim and Julian's new disc. Does not disappoint. Talk Like That and Yippiyo-ay are the kind of off-kilter dancefloor burners everyone loves from the pair. Just further evidence for why the Presets are due to have an amazing year. If I Know You is another beast altogether. Ballad-sets? Kinda sorta. But in a good way. Will defs be an under-hyped gem on the disc. Only one more week til the whole deal.

Like there wasn't enough great Australian electro music already, right? Well get ready to meet some new talent; Panther DLX. Dyce put me on to these dudes and I'm damn lucky too. This is great. Good synth-heavy sound mixed with muddy New Order-dreaming bass. I'm an instant fan. Check these guys out alright. After just laying down some demos last September, the three piece have already started sharing stages around the country with the likes of the Gameboy/Gamegirl, Teenagersintokyo and even Para One. Memorise it now, as I'm positive you'll be seeing a lot more of Panther DLX.

I pretty much love the Crystal Castles album, dig. People have been complaining that it's not as fast and ruthless as their old stuff. Fuck off. Xxzxcuzx Me is on there so it freaks out everyone walking past the demo computers when it pops up at work, but there's these inspired flashes of diversity I didn't really have any hope for, and so I fuggin' love it. And what's the scoop on Vanished? Not only is it the best on there, but it's repping some deliciously pitch shifted vox from Van She's Sex City. I'm guessing they got a remix request but nevs got around to it? Anyone got dirt?

I'm later than Jamie Lynn's period on this one, but it's basically too good to ignore. I was one of few to not swoon for the Shoes' mix of Hold Me Down so I came to this with plenty of shoulder shrugging at the ready, but hot damn, this is totally gagging to make my list Best 2008 Remixes, and it's only just April. Must have.
