Since this post was one of the more popular posts in Hype-History I decided to resucitate it and streeeeetch it out a bit further. Call it savagely beating a dead horse or what you will, but I call it a slap-dash attempt at part deux.2007's Best Remixes Pt. 2 (16-25)
25. Cobra Dukes - Airtight (Aeroplane Remix)
This one was an absolute stunner, for sure. While their Das Pop remix was unfortunately overshadowed by the others on that single (SebastiAn, Brodinski, Yuksek), Aeroplane made major waves with this baby. Aeroplane delivered a delicously spaced out take on the Dukes' hit. I just wish I knew more about them.
24. Cut Copy - Hearts On Fire (Joakim Remix)
For those who wanted someone to turn Hearts On Fire into an even bigger banger this must've been very disappointing. This wasn't meant for any dancefloor riots. With its gradual build, attention to atmospherics and sax loops this baby was more than a remix. It was something special.
23. Foals - Hummer (Passions Remix)
I kept coming back to this one over the year. Sure I played it to death, but I just loved it. As genius as the original was, with Passions on remixing duties it could only get better.
22. Boys Noize - & Down (Teenage Bad Girl Remix)
This is actually a dodgy copy of the mix I had mislabelled before finding the real thing on the single. Yet I prefer this one anyway. Maybe it's the short and sharp length or that the lower bitrate makes it even more dirty and crunchy, I'm not sure. But it's fire. That I know for certain. Fire.
21. Kavinsky - Testarossa Autodrive (SebastiAn Remix)
Few remixes grab you immediately. This one hit me like a bullet. As soon as the beat lands at the 15 second mark I shot right up, smile on my face, thinking to myself "holy shit. this is awesome." Indeed.
20. The Concretes - Keep Yours (Pacific! Remix)
Too gooooooood.
19. The Outrunners - Cool Feeling (Anoraak Remix)
As if this tune couldn't get any (dare I say it) cooler, Anoraak go and turn up the gorgeous factor on the synths and layer it out across seven minutes of bliss. Yeah, bliss. And that bass. Shit man. That's some amazing bass.
18. LCD Soundsystem - North American Scum (Kris Menace Remix)
This one didn't get nearly as much love as it should've last year, and I've got no idea why. Kris Menace kills it. I've been a huge fan ever since hearing this and so should you.
17. Bloc Party - The Prayer (Knife Machine Remix)
It's funny to think that I've never posted this up here considering how much I loved it. The secret is it was my DJ WEAPON. I would drop this every week, without fail. And I didn't want everyone to have it. Selfish selfish Dave. I know. Holding out on you all. Bad man! But here it is. I don't DJ anymore so I can give it up. Get it.
16. Chromeo - Fancy Footwork (GUNS N' BOMBS Remix)
There were a million and two remixes of this fucking tune, but it was G&B who really nailed it right. Whether it was the added sirens, Cops-style voice-over or just that ridiculously cool bass synth, I still can't decide just what made it so good. But shit man, this was guaranteed dancefloor fire.
So that's the end of the 2007 nostalgia dudes and dudettes. More fresh fresh fresh goods soon.

Ruthyboo, go to hypem.com
yeah that's definitely not the teenage bad girl remix of &down. or anything similar to it.
that just sounds like a mangy edit of the original..
I noticed this same thing on a few other blogs - since it's one giant circle jerk anyways it's no surprise (no offense -- I do enjoy yours, but certain tracks get to be like digital std's for blogs) and have yet to see the correct teenage remix surface, at least for any considerable duration of time.
Easiest way to verify: go fart around on beatport, check out the &Down release, it's on there.
