Inconsolable

I've been meaning to do this post for what must be at least a month now, but things kept getting in the way. In that time, the shiz has been blogged over at ADT and at the always awesome Disco Delicious, but god damn it, that ain't going to stop me from jumping in on the bandwagon and spilling some (digital) ink for the terrific Hey Now crew. They're a collective of DJs/producers who've been clocking up some major hits on the indie dancefloor circuit with their excellent mixes and exceptional remixes. Based out of Sydney, the crew have been tearing up the clubs and with the remixes below, it's clear as to just why that is.

First up we've got their mix of Lost Valentinos brilliant single, 17 Deaths. I was waiting for someone to do a killer remix of this baby, and while the Like Woah! fellowss are gearing up to drop their edit soon, Hey Now bring the goods in a major with this one. Seriously, it's been following me around for weeks. In the car, on the pod, wherever. Spazzed out synths and a great bassline anchor this one before the big "like a scarecrow" breakdown. Too good.

Next up is their work over of Grafton Primary's synth-pop masterpiece, I Can Cook. While people have been raving on (and likely, raving to) Miami Horror's super-cool remix, the Hey Now remix is equally deserving of your attention. I never thought I'd be lost for a descriptive word as I am now, but it's just really slick and...PUNCHY. Yep. Punchy. It's also got an infectiously good bass fuzz on it. And a sweet brigde too. Just listen, okay?

You want more of a testament to their wonderful skills? They made the Paper Scissors sound good. I know people fawn over those kids, but they couldn't annoy me more, basically. But thank you Hey Now for not only making them listenable, but making We Don't Walk into an absolute cut-up electro banger.
