Cut, Paste & Distorted Bass

Allow me to introduce Damage On The Backseat. While some of you may know the name already, if you're not yet acquainted, Damage On The Backseat deserves major attention. Seriously, I haven't been this impressed with a new act in God knows how long. The project of Vancouver-based Australian (we've got quite a pedigree here, don't we?) Spencer, Damage On The Backseat is doing some truly great things, whether it's his remix work or his upcoming solo-stuff (check out Strictly Wizard on the 'Space, it blew me away on first listen). And what's even more impressive/depressing, he's only 19 and has been doing this since January. Yeah. Crazyness.

Spencer's been kind enough to share some of his recent remixes, including joints for Dragonette, Muscles (perhaps the winner, if I had to pick one from these smashes), and Feist. Hyperbole faithful may remember me posting Spencer's take on My Moon My Man way back when, but rest assured, the man's gone and spiced it up again with a minty-fresh new edit. And it's even better. As all these come with my HIGHEST RECCOMENDATION you know that this guy is worth your time. I don't mean to start some sort of hype-mongering bonanza which ends up with Spencer in rehab for an ice habit, but this is damn good stuff. And the name of the blog is Hyperbole...I get excited about things easily. So keep an eye on him, from this first taste, there's a lot to look forward to.
